Northern Tool has two that I like...one is item number 26811 another is item 226719..

The first one is on sale for $139...its 16 gallon and comes with a special nozzle that sprays 14 feet wide...with the spot sprayer gun...The nozzle can be changed for spot spraying...

The second is 26 gallon and comes with a boom that sprays 30 feet...it also has a spot sprayer gun...it sells for $299...my brother has the second one and it does a good job on food plots....I'm planning on buying the smaller one as I will also use on my lawn...

I spray weeds for a living during most the summer, and we spray some really rough country. Our units get a dang good work out. I've already flipped my machine once this year, and my sprayer still works great (it didn't take a direct hit luckily). The design of the tank is such that it helps your machine keep a little lower center of gravity than you do with the normal cylinder tanks. That's a real plus, but make no mistake, the 25 gals of water is still more than heavy enough to make you flip or roll realy easy. They're a litte more expensive, but worth every penny if you plan on spraying much. Here's a link to some units that have the same basic design as ours. Don't think they're the exact same though. http://www.superioroutdoorpower.com/ez_rider.htm

BTW we just use two broadcast nosels mounted to the bracket that is attached to the back of the tank, rather than booms. They give us plenty over coverage. And our guns are a lot more heavy duty- they are pure metal.

A lot depends on what you want to do with it. How much are you spraying and what are you spraying?

NT- looking to spray mainly for weed control. Have a one acre clover field and going to plant another two or three acres of other food plots

I just bought (a couple months ago) a 15 gal. sprayer at Tractor Supply. Only $85 and I like it. Only has a wand to spray, but it worked well. I sprayed my small food plot and the weeds along my access road. I think, if I need, I can rig up a boom to spray.

wyotimberghost uses a really nice sprayer. I've used that model as well. However, at most tractor supply type places for 1/2 the price you can get a 25 gallon sprayer with handwand and boomless sprayer with 3 nozzlesthat will spray 10-15'. I am a wildlife consultant for an engineering firm now, but in a previous life I worked for conservation departments and QU. The tractor supply models are what we used.

I think TSC handles Fimco sprayers, and they work fine. However, most sprayers come with 12 volt pumps only capable of putting out about 1.8 gpm. For some booms, that's not enough and the bigger model that pumps around 3.0 gpm is required.

I have purchased both. The lower flow is better for spot spraying, especially mesquite, because the one I have operates at 60 psi. The larger volume pump runs the booms much better, but it only operates at about 45 psi, which makes a big difference in the number of acres I can spot spray in a day's time.
