hunting plots?

this year i plan on brush hogging about a half acre of of a maybe 4 acre feild, the feild is really overgrown and is in a transition zone between the deer bedding areas in the hills, and the bottom lands(creeks, hay feilds), its a natural funnel because the deer must go through it to reach the water and food, but sometimes they never come out, being content with acorns and such, i was hoping a small food plot would entice them more to comeout of the woods and feed if onl ya little bit before heading off to the big fields. maybe even making some brush piles to funnel em in close to the stand..what do u guys think?..any suggestions and times for palnting would be great

You might want to split it up and plant part annual and part perennial. My recommendation would be to use Big Rack Trophy Products seed blends. The spring blend would be planted in May and the fall blend in mid-August. You'll find that the deer will be hitting the plots hard since it sounds like the plots will be away from roads and other human activity.

Sounds like a good plan. You may want to brush hog a trail leading to and away fromyour plot(s), if the entire area is overgrown enough that this would become a lane of least resistance.
