RE: home made feeder?
you can make it useing 3/4" pvc pipe also. you get a 3/4" T and a pieace of pipe about 3' long. glue the T to the pipe. cut a hole in the bottom of a five gal. bucket about 1 1/4" drop the pipe through the hole.it will leave a gap around the pipe and you hang it about 4' off the ground to the tip of the pipe.the game will pick up the corn off the ground and in doing so they will brush the pipe and it will sway and let a little corn come out around the pipe.they will also smell and nuzzle the pipe to get it out.if it is to low , the coons will stand on the back legs and empty the feeder.it needs to be high enough so a coon can't reach it, but the deer can still smell the corn and make it work.
you may want to try it and wiggle the pipe to be sure you hole is big enough , but not to big.when you wiggle it you can tell.just bump it and watch.
you can also use a woode dowel with another smaller dowel drilled through the bigger one.the pvc pipe works better for me.

RE: home made feeder?
Here's one I made from a plastic barrell. It holds 300# of corn.
I'm going to try using a pipe next year instead of a spinner.
