If your land is suited for it, I don't think there's a better perennial than c lover. Ours has lasted nearly 4 years and is green nearly all year. I treat it in the early spring for grass and it stays weed free almost all summer and the deer are in almost every day.

I've tried everything. In my perennial plots I use the Imperail Brand. I know it costs a little more but it grows quicker and has lasted thru 3 dry summers and the deer were in it today. 2 bucks and 6 doe. NO SHOT TODAY, BUT "I'LL BE BACK".

I don't have the best high quality land but I've got the best plots this year in the last 9 years of planting. Sprayed grass killer this spring and I have 98% clover in every field. Awesome.

Why clover?????Because my neighbor had it and he also had the deer. Since I planted about 4 years ago we've been about even.

Any of you guys had any experiance with ball clover? I generally only plant rye grass but decided to diversify a little this yr. On one plot I planted several strips of different type seeds, . . .ball clover being one, and then buck forage oats, biologic, and I also planted some kinda wal mart brand deer mix. I will go back and dress it up with some rye (I also have some previously planted cow peas in a fire lane surrounding this plot.) , depending on how well these things come up.
