Best results for my Chickory plot

The 1/2 acre plot is grown up with weeds for now. Should I cut them down and then put roundup or should i spray them first then mow?

For best results, cut them down and wait for the weeds to start growing agian. Then spray with roundup www.pbase.com/mlo3135127
