Any suggestions for places to buy fall mixes in NY
 

I want to do some planting on newly made logging roads and in areas that were recently logged and was wondering if there was somthing better that the pre-packaged mixes and just right for local Columbia County conditions. Any suggestions from the hive mind??

If you are looking for a fall attractant - forget the clover hype -its good........... it just normally takes a full year to reach its potential

I'd probably reccomend a Fall crop like Rye or Buck Forage Oats.

I was really thinking about getting a mix of different seeds and broadcasting them on the recently disturbed soil and raking them in. I just dont know if those wonder packages are good here in the Northeast and wether it might be better to have a local co make a mixture up for me. I think we purchased seeds from a co called Caraval but they pretty much cater to farmers and not food plot seeds. I was look ing for some suggestions as where to get seeds which will do well locally.

Any advice????

Buck Forage Oats will grow just about anywhere and provide as good an attractant as anything else you canbuy. It's not that expensive either.
