RE: Anything else I can do to make my treestand setup better?
Any of you guys been up in one of them? I have, When they are extended all the way up and you go from one end of the plat form to the other it moves. and it is a little on the scary side. It is real wobbly. Imagine how it would be with a good wind blowing!!!![&:]I even had to move it with it that high. Was running some wire and conduit on the ceiling of the plant I worked for then. I'm glad I was on a flat surface.

RE: Anything else I can do to make my treestand setup better?
ORIGINAL: born2hunt My treestand is about 15 ft up and im 20 yards off a logging road and I have biologic planted on the road to the left of my treestand a little ways. about 50 yards in front of me I have a little creek. Is there anything else I can do to make my setup better or to attract more deer? Comments appreciated Thanks- Mike Or, if you are lazy, just buy a TON of twine, and wrap it from tree to tree, to form the "fence" ...looks like crap, but it works. |

To get back on the subject at hand. You could put another tree stand up on the other end giving you a a 2nd position if the wind isnt right for you in the stand you have up.I use BFO (buck forage Oats) also it seems to draw them in no matter the weather. But it really does well when you have snow cover.I have had them dig through the snow to get to the oats.I do not know what kind of deer traffic you have coming through there but using a decoy during pre rut and rut would certainly draw them in closer to you and your stand.
The most important thing I can tell you on a set up like this is to pay attention to the wind do NOT le t them know you are around by having them wind you.It may ruin your stand for the year. |
