Kevin, I think it depends on wheather you are bow hunting or gun hunting the plot. And how big is the plot.

I promise you will get more usage if it is on the edge of the feild, if there eating in the plot you would be able to shoot them no matter where it was. Deer prefer to be close to cover while eating,
