Default Yeehaaa Big Boy survived!!!

Got a phone call last night from a guy who lives in the area of the property we are now hunting. He said he was on the property putting up a stand when he saw a huge buck enter the field he was in. Says it is equal or better than the one his father took off the property 8 years ago. Considerring that buck was a 16 point that went 191 b&c before deductions, im excited!! Im pretty sure this is the buck I watched for 4 straight days last year!

So are you planning on doing better than watching this year? <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Good Luck!

Hey Swamp, thats great news for you.I was happy as a pig in slop for the same reason last week,I saw the monster of the hood while bear huntin.Last year I shot a beautiful 10 pt and since I had all week to hunt,I went back out the next day, bear hunting, and saw a buck that was bigger than the 10 pt I got the day before.Since the first day I saw that buck,I've kept an eye on him.Last Feb.,I lost track of him and hadnt seen him all summer. Then, while I was in my stand last week,he walked right down the logging road I was set up on.My heart jumped right out of my chest,I cant wait for opening day.

Amosgreg, if I only had a rifle last year. I was using a sluggun and didnt think a 200 yarder would be too wise! Ive got a new .308 for this year and I will be sitting in the same stand. Im hoping he still has the same routine!

swampthing; you've got to admit that to get to the world's biggest island you've got to travel to the other side of hell's half acre. It's better if less people hunt it. Most people could only be so lucky as you, with the deer population problem that they have on the island.

Worth every penny of the gas bill, besides when you are driving up all you see is deer hunters along the highway, gets the blood pumping real good!! Wish it was 2 weeks earlier though, I just know one of these years we are going to get hammered by snow and we will be stuck in the parry sound area, just hope its on the way home!

It just amazes me, no one, and I mean no one, wants to drive up there!! I love it though, no phone, no tv, and great deer hunting!
