Just finished applying for shotgun season permits for our group in IL. Did it online. Good deal, only had to extend credit to one guy, but that's OK cause they just had a baby and he's a friend. Here in IL we get an either-sex and an antlerless only for $30.00 ( + $1.45 online transaction fee ). Or one either-sex for $15.00 ( + the $1.45 ).

This first lottery deadline is April 29th so we're fine with that. However, we won't actually see what we receive for some time. We can apply for additional permits in the next lottery, deadline August 12. Then the next opportunity would be the random daily drawings Sept 15 thru Nov 7.

i was thinking about doing that for the kentucky elk hunting. but i wasn't sure if i were drawn that i would have the money to pay for the nonresident tag. yoiu have to pay so much to get into the raffle then pay for the tags and such on top of that.
