Best Deer hunting Video Vhs or DVD
 

I have bought a couple of DVDs and VHS tapes on Whitetail deer hunting including how to field dress, I am looking for informative videos not just a hunter, not like the outdoor network programs (even though I do find them sometimes entertaining). More on how to deer videos, which ones would you recommend. Thanks alot

I've watched many many videos. Drury videos are the best IMO. They give plenty of great information, and it's easy to see the love they have for the outdoors. Something that is tough to see from some of the Realtree group.

I have watched a number of these videos and I do agree the Drury Brothers' are teriffic. BUT, to me there is a two DVD (used to be VHS) set that is unquestionably the best, most informative video I have see.

It was made at least 15 yrs ago by 3M Productions and the host is Jerry Chiapettia (sp).

One is called "Way of the Whitetail" and it explained everything about the life (and death) of whitetail deer.
The other is called "Successful Whitetail Deer Hunting" and it explains so much valuable information on actually hunting whitetail deer. You are encouraged to watch "Way of the Whitetail" first to give to indepth information of the life of a whitetail deer.

After that the author says that after watching "Successful Whitetail Deer Hunting", you will be able to find deer on purpose and not by accident. He is absolutely correct.

I have been deer hunting almost 45 years and I was suprised at how much emphasis was given to things I learned as a kid. Little things like how to look for deer, where to aim at that deer when he's is standing at different angles, how to hunt in different weather conditions, what you must do when tracking a wounded deer...these are just a few examples. There is also a lot of emphasis on safety and hunter etiquette. (sp) ...I can not say enough about these videos.

Jimmy S, Thank you so much, that is exactly what I am looking for, I have a copy of Way of the Whitetail, and now I will start searching for a copy of "Successful Whitetail Deer Hunting" I am trying to get a couple of the more informative videos. Thanks again

Just one other point, I hunt New England (Maine, NH) and we don't have the luxury of seeing deer every time we go out. Sometimes you can hunt an entire season and only see a handful of deer. These videos really set the record straight. There is a lot of emphasis on what NOT to do as much as what to do. Good Luck.

Also make certain the copy of "Way of the Whitetail" is the one hosted by Jerry Chiapettia. There may be other videos with a very similar title.

I did a Yahoo search on "Successful whitetail deer hunting" and got a hit. The info you want should be there...

Papo...I enjoyed "Snaring rats in the hood". Very informative! Another one that was enjoyable was " The Can hunter". LMAO

I agree! Mark and Terry Drury have the best hunting videos on the market hands down. the best thing about them is that they very rarely use outfitters to hunt with. they hunt on private land owned and managed by memebers of the drury team. Check out there vidoes labeled 100% wild. they have produced 5 videos of a 10 video series on how to better take whitetail deer. Truly awsome stuff. I watch one almost every chance I can here in Iraq. it helps with the hunting withdrawl I'm going through this year.

Mark and Terry Drury make the best videos. They show what goes on to make the hunt-not just the kill. Anyone can show the kill. They show the rest and make it extremely interesting.
