I read the same article, i believe it was in Outdoor Life. Some university did a study where this was documented. I believe it was either Kansas or Kentucky ( I can't remember which). GOT MY ATTENTION TOO!

Heck if I'm hungry enough I'll eat just about anything<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>but then I'm not a vegetarian. Hard to believe they will eat baby chicks or Swampy"s table scraps. <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
The best of luck in all your hunting endeavors!!!

I guess anything is possible... How many times is a deer going to run across a nest low enough and then also have chicks in it as well... Slim to none I would think... If it was me I would keep looking for that white Oak tree...lol
Good luck out there...

I have never heard of deer eating meat? May be you will recall when Chimps were found to accually eat meat. This stuned the people studing the chimps as this was never documented. But, after later studies and observation, chimps did infact eat meat on occations. They stated that it was for protien. So, I would assume that the same could be for deer.

Someone here last year posted a trail cam picture of a Doe nosing in and eating a gut pile.
Anyone remember that?
