feeder cage

Ebay has this deer feeder cage for only $10.00 and I need to know if this is a good one or not. It's made of metal and the walls are connected with hog rings. The bottom does hing for access to the timer.

You could probably build one cheaper than the price plus shipping, but it should work fine.

On this type of cage other than wire what else could you use to secure the bottom latch shut ?

I've had racoons hang on my cages like trapeze artists and then reach in and steal corn. If you don't have coons around or they can't climb up to your feeder you should be OK.

You will never fit a deer in that cage

at my local dollar tree store i seen similar type baskets. you could easily retro the baskets i saw to the bottom of the feeders. just get some clamps and wing nuts and loc washers so you can take it off out in the field with no tools.

YOU MIGHT ALSO CHECK OUT YOUR LOCAL WL-MART. I HAVE SEEN THOSE IN THE COOKWARE DEPARTMENT
