I started using 105 gr hornadys round nose. I like the blood trails they cause and they work quick.
i have used BTs in the 243 but just wasnt impressed.

Remington 100 gr. Corelock factory load. Example, my grandson shot his first deer last year. A dandy 8pt buck at about 80 yards with .243 Rem. Corelock. Deer was broadside at a slight angle. I recovered the bullet on the far side just under the skin. It weighed 67 grains. Buck went maybe 20 yards. One very happy lad.
In my 6MM I use handloaded Nosler 100 gr Partitions, always get an exit.

I personal use Rem. core lock 100gr with my .243 because they shot the best out of my gun but my sons .243 same make and model will group better with the Win. 100gr. I don't like BT's but I would try different ammo and see which one shoots the best and go with that but I wouldn't go under 85gr JMO.

There are only three bullets that I would use in a 243 for deer. The 85 or 100 grain Barnes X bullet. The Nosler Partition or the Nosler Ballistic tips. I have used Ballistic tips in every caliber that they make them in. I would use them in any non Magnum rifle for sure. I have had them do strange things in the 7MM Mags.
