there was an even bigger one killed this year. 42 pointer. still waiting to see a pic of him. supposively there was one of the 42 in the journal star but i never saw it. if anyone has a pic of him please post it, thanks.

Yes the buck pictured above is the anmal you are refering to. Scott Dexter took the buck near Macomb. 47 scorable points and a NET score of 294" B&C. IL's all-tme #2 BUCK!!! Here's a much better view of the beast.

That mount isn't to be releated to the rack at all. In fact it was a terrible taxidermy job and actually shocked many that seen it. I found out that it is a temporary mount because (as expected) the antlers have been sold! I believe BPS paid top dollar for them.

Noted IL whitetail authority Tim Walmsey said the buck was more than likely at least 7 1/2. They do have some sheds from the freak to confirm.

MAN ..if THATS a fact that is just amazing ... I know you most likely have seen the deer I took in Canada that I have posted on here and had someone offer to buy it (not that its for sale) but he did'nt offer ANYTHING close to THAT ...WOW

They certainly have a value these days, that's for sure! Around here their are anlers buyers that are always "scouting" for a new purchase. A B&C minimum typical gets $1,500, no questions asked. The most expensive rack I have personally held in my own hands was one buck (the Lobster Claw Buck) that was sold to the Legendary Whiteails collection many years ago. This buck was actually found dead near a small twon in my area. My Taxidermist told me I just HAD to come over and see this beast he was mounting. As I was holding the antlers,..... my hands actually started to sweat when he told me they were sold for $30,000! I couldn't imagine that kind of money for horns! [:-]

I know heads like the Jordan Buck and the like are insured for $150,000! That would be freakin' awesome.... the right buck could BUY me another tract to hunt!!! [:-]:D

I think it was more than that, a friend of mine shot a huge 16 point, and a magazine ad. he had a pic of him with the deer, and the bow with the brand name showing, and he got 100,000 for it , plus a brand new bow every 2 years

I'm having a VERY difficult time believing that??? Very, very few antlers in the world have ever got a 1/4 of that! You're buddies buck would have to World Record status..... what in the heck did he score? Is it possible that your buddy streeeeeeeeetched the truth a LOT?? [:-][8D]
