We all get a chuckle out of that, BUT get real thats about the most im-mature, irresponsible thing a "hunter" could do. I hope for one that whoever decided to put that on public display will really reconsider their "rednecked cuteness" and for the better of the sport STOP IT!!!
Public image has as much to do with our sport as anything. The vast majority of America are NON-HUNTERS. That doesnt mean that they are animal rights extremists, it just means that they choose not to hunt. BUT childish stunts like that could easily sway them too the anti's camp. The NON-HUNTERS hold the most political clout just from a sheer numbers perspective. BUT if we all do such things as publicly display things of this nature, it wont be long for us or our sport.
I likewise have a STRONG distaste for hunters who feel the redneck need to display their animals while traveling, I personally think its some pyschological act to make up for their lacking "maleness". For Christ's sake wrap the animal up in a tarp or cover it up in the back of your pickup. Tieing it prominently upon the top of a trailer, ATC or roof of a car is simple LUNACY and in my opinion should be outlawed for the better of the sport!

That's the main problem with this country today, Red. Everybody thinks the things he don't like ought to be forbidden to everybody. You don't like transporting dead animals in the open and the guy across the street don't like the fact that you have a gun.
