WHAT GRAIN SHOULD I USE

I am using a .243 win and i was wondering what grain of bullet i should use for whitetail deer. Do they make anything higher than 100gr. Let me know your opinion.

I am not sure what grain they make for a 243. I am sure they would make a grain higher than 100. I have a 25-06 and I use 120gr has plenty of stopping power to take down a deer.

I have been whitetail hunting w/ a .243 for years. Mostly I use the Federal 100gr Nosler Partition. I don't know of any factory loads for the .243 that are over 100gr.

I am now using 100gr remington core lokt ammo and it stops them in their tracks usually but i was just wondering if i should use a more premium brand of bullet. Thanks alot!

A partition style bullet will give you reliable penetration. You may not need that for deer, depending on the shots you take.

In my opinion most people are just wasting their money on premium ammo. But hey, it's their money.
