what calibers have you killed deer with?
 

I only want people who have actually used a caliber to kill a deer, to respond. None of this, "well my buddy's .416 Rem mag blew a deer to mars and He couldn't find one hair!"
Just curious cause Im gonna buy anew rifle soon. I use a .300 Savage and Handload my own loads. I will handload for whatever I get. I killed 2 buck with it this year and it was fine but my Mom is gonna use it next year. Thanks. And once again only people with experience w/ a certain caliber please respond.

I shot serveral deer with .243 on up to 30.06. But them are pretty typical deer guns though.

I have a few to choose from ,but lately I use my 243win or 25-06 ,and I'm starting to lean more to the 25-06 . I have bigger rifles for Elk so that is not a factor. They both have good range and stopping power .

30-30 for 150 yards or less, knocks them on their rear and does not kick bad at all. 12 gauge is sweet also, but I am assuming you are looking at a rifle.

222 Rem (No I am not proud of that kill and it is why I am totally against shooting deer with a .22 cal)
