Whitetails are sneakier, but a mulie's stotting gait is darned near impossible to time, so I don't think I can choose between them. I guess blacktail are my favorites.

Switch. Different one every other year. Muley country and hunting style is more fun for me, whitetail is better to eat.

I've never hunted muley's before but I'd love a chance to someday.But I'd have to say Whitetail would be my Favourite.

Prefer hunting*** Either/or
Last year I got a 4x4 white tail and this year I got a 3x3 mulie, within a 1/4 mile of each other. The mule deer has a stronger taste (not bad or gamey) just stronger. The white tails that I have gotten in this same area, eating the same thing as the mule deer taste much better.
If you want antlers than go for mulies. Bobby

I have wondered about that. I agree here in Montana, it seems like mulies definitely have the antler edge. But based only on photos and tv, seems like a whitetail from east of here that is considered "decent" would have as big of a rack than a western muley that scores "decent".

I like them both, each bring their own challenges and rewards. If made to choose I prefer hunting whitetails. Taste no contest Whitetail gets the nod.

we don't have mule deer here. I wouldn't mind traveling and trying my hand at it. I do really like hunting whitetails though.
