Great shed. Sounds like you've done you scouting and have the stand location right. Now it's time trick the big boy and bring him out during the daylight so you can get the shot. Good luck.

The discoloration looks like it is a much older shed??? I also find that when put to scale and with the noticably shorter tine lenghts, that that indeed will be closer to 140" than 160"??? Could you have stretched the tape a bit???

The numbers posted are pretty close and the guesses arejust that as posted. The picture really does not do the mass justice. My neighbor has a 168 10 point and we put the antler next to his and they were pretty close. Any way it was a rush to find one the first day out this year. What about that coloration could it be last years? was in some high acid Laurles a type of rhododendron. with just a few gnaws I cant believe it is a year old. Maybe a December drop?

It does not look like last years shed, like you said only a little bite. I bet it was an early drop, good luck with him next year.
