Bag limits and prices????

Here in Saskatchewan it costs $33 for an either sex tag and $20 for a doe tag. Depending on where you are, you can shoot two in a season. We're talking whitetails here. How much is it in your state/province and how many can you take??? Thanks for the reply.

Here in Maryland it's $24 for a regular license and that only allows you to hunt deer with a gun. You can take 4 deer in each section (2 of which HAVE to be does) and there are 4 sections in the state. For $6 you can get a bow stamp and for antoher $6 you can get a muzzleloader stamp. Same limit as for gun. You have to pay $10 for each additional deer tag. Oh, and in one section you can take unlimited does with a bow. Disregarding that you can take a total of 48 deer in the state with the one license but you have to pay $10 for each additional deer you take after 1.

I wonder if they could make it MORE complicated!!!!!!

Well lets see in Va. it is a total of $24 for small/big game license state wide which allows you up three bucks and one doe. Then there is also an archery permit which I beleive is $12. You can purchase unlimited bonus doe permits, they cost $12 and allow you two more doe per permit. You are allowed two deer a day.

If you were capable and had the money you could legally kill over one hundred deer in a license year in the counties I hunt.

In Alabama, in most areas, you could legally harvest 154 (two per day) with a firearm or you could legally harvest 220 (two per day) with a bow or spear, half of which must be non-antlered. Non-resident license are $250 and covers all game except additional fees for management areas.

No joke, it has been legal for a few years to hunt with a spear during bow season. I don't know anybody that has tried it, but it is there if you want to try.
The rule says "Deer and feral swine may be taken by hand thrown spear during the open bow and arrow season on these species. The hand thrown spear shall have a sharpened blade a minimum of two inches in width. The spear shall only be hand thrown."

IN ALBERTA FOR A TOTAL OF $190.82 YOU COULD HOLD 7 DEER PERMITS AND SHOOT 11 DIFFRENT WHITETAILS.(only 4 could be bucks)

As the first post (Saskbucks') is only for cost of permits and whitetails for residents only, that is what I will report.

First of all though you have to spend some bucks on:
W.I.N. card.............$8.00
Wildlife Certificate...$22.85
Bow permit (some deer permits are only for bow hunters)
.......................$7.00
Then there are 7 diffrent deer licenses that you can apply for in a draw or buy over the counter that would allow you to shoot 11 diffrent whitetails at a cost of $133.99 (total + 7% Goods and Services Tax)

02bhuntin I see your wife has the same rule as mine, you have to beat your best before you get a mount, I never got him scored, but I killed an 8 point in 74 that was 21 3/4 inches in the inside of his beams and 19 1/2 inches from the top of his head to the two upper most tines, very heavy rack. I got him mounted and he burnt up in a house fire! Hopefully I will get one soon to mount, but there are not a ton of them bigger than that in Va., they're there though, I saw one last year that was at least his equal at 40 yards bow hunting.

In Ontario, it costs $33 for a buck licence. We can enter a draw to have it upgraded to an "any deer" tag. The area I bowhunt is offering additional "antlerless only" tags this year at $33.

I just got my NY license today, finally. The new computer system sucks.Let's hear it for Worldcomm<<<***RAZZZZZBERRRRRRRRRY!!!!*** *>>>

Anyhow, I got a total of 10 tags. 5 Deer, 1 black bear, 4 turkey. Total cost was 68.00. So each animal I harvest has cost me $6.80. That doesn't even take into account that my license will also allow me to fish all year, and hunt small game too.

Not too bad a deal I think.

I'll take good luck over skill any day!
