IMHO the .270 Winchester is one of the finest deer cartridges ever made. The ballistics are great and the recoil is mild compared to the 30.06. Furthermore, with proper shot placement it will do just fine on elk and bear. I never feel under-gunned or inadequate with my .270. I am even having a custom rifle made in this caliber. MD out!

I've shot many deer with my Sako270ca ,it's an awsome rifle and is perfect for hunting deer .I also use it for hunting moose .
