RE: 4Wheelers taking over!!!!!
Snowmobiles here aren't too much of a problem just becasue we don't have a lot of snow. But when it does snow, oh god they do become a problem at times. Mainly as people say damaging fences and fields and my favorite, opening gates up and never closing them. Leave gates the way you find them as the old saying goes, gates are usually open or closed for a reason.. hay fields are just to attractive to people on snowmobiles because they are nice and flat and not tilled up so the snow is usually just perfect...Oh well, my HT fences don't get cut like the barbwire ones did. Something about steel under tension deters the practice.
4-wheelers around here... I use one a lot. Not for hunting but for getting from point A to point B, to haul Minerals out to my fields and even to check calves when the weather warms up a bit. It is a darn economical way to drive around in the country even if they are abused. We have more problems with dirt bikers than ATVers but that has started to shift as the kids who were the dirt bikers are older now and have graduated to girls and the ATVers are growing in numbers. Could be worse..really, it could be. When the next batch of kids in the area hit about 12 I am sure it will be...
