Does anyone else here take pictures while hunting

I think I take too many but I can't help myself. I took this one tonight a sunset.

I take a video camera with me and record hunts! It's pretty tough at times, been bust twice by 2 different bucks while trying to move! Good luck and you can never take too many pics while hunting!

Yea, I do. Got a new ditgital camera this spring and I never knew taking pictures could be so much fun. I have had it with me every time out but one. I'll try and add one or two to this. I would love to get a shot of a deer, right before I took my shot at the deer. Anyways, yea, I do.

I've taken both video and digital.

That sunset is beautiful. My son and I took a picture of a sunset a couple of weeks ago. The memories of a hunt aren't always the deer that you shoot.

I take my digital camera and, as I hunt solo, take a pic of the deer after the kill and before gutting. I'm working on the time delay so I can get in the picture too.

I purchased a Canon S1 IS digital camera this summer and have had a great time taking pictures. I have attached a photo of a small 7 pointer that I passed up 3 times earlier in the season. The picture is a little blurred because I took the photo with a timed exposure without a tripod. You can also view some of my other photos at http://photos.cloudwalkersatpage.com

Just a question here, for those of you that use digital. I am looking for a good digital camera that has a zoom for hunting. What do you suggest and why?
Thanks,
Rick

I have a Olympus C-740 with a 30X zoom. I can't say enough good things about this camera. One of my favorite galleries of mine was the eclipse a few month back.

Time lapes photos of the eclipse

I was impressed with the fact that I could get good moon shots. My last camera it was hard to tell you were even taking a picture of the moon let alone get any detail.

I'm like Shoestring, my girlfriend just bought me a digital for my birthday the night before I was leaving for Montana. As I was hunting, I was taking pix of scenery and managed to get some nice shots. Makes for some good memories of the hunts!!

Here is the picture of a buck I shot shortly after taking a couple of picture of him. I got lucky because the doe he was tending kept circling back around to me. I took it with a Olympus 400 digital camera. The picture is blurred but I tried to fix it the best I could. He was about 75 yards out when I took the picture. I asked santa to get me a better one for Christmas, hopefully I have been good enough this year.

WHO, similar to what was already mentioned, I have an Olympus C-750. It has a phenomenal zoom, although it's a little bulkier than others. It takes GREAT pictures. This is a picture of a bald eagle I took at my cabin, from a rocking boat at 15-20 yards away. Anyway, I would look online, I bought mine at www.buydig.com at a great price, warranty and all. I've yet to take it out hunting with me though.

I got a picture like that but mine was not as sharp. I got this picture of an eagle that was on top of a ham radio tower two streets over.

I got my camera online at http://www.jr.com and was very please with the overall process and the service. My two digital camera buying tips are the more optical zoom the better. a camera with anymore than 3-4X digital zoom will be grainy. Also try to get a camera that takes lithium batteries. Lithium batteries last 10X longer wile only costing 4X times more. I took over 1000 photos on my first set of lithium batteries.

I think you should post this picture everytime someone is complaining about not seeing/killing any deer during their hunt. This gives the perspective that there is more to hunting then killing every day in the woods.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.... You guys and your high tech digital cameras.... ;)

I bring my old, trusty, Canon A-1 35mm SLR in the woods right before the season and snap photos of deer signs, tracks, and the general outlying area of where I want to hunt. Camera bag and assorted lenses, filters, and misc gear is either in the truck, or in a small fanny pack, should I need it.

I never go out without my camera.

Here's a picture taken last Saturday from my blind. These two blackbuck antelope were out about 450 yards. The picture was taken with a Digital SLR and a 200 mm zoom lense. When I took the picture I didn't see that the blackbuck on the right was taking a whiz nor did I notice the russian boar that was out beyond the antelope.

I take all kinds of pictures while hunting. I am working on getting them all scanned onto my computer and want to put an online photoalbum together on my own site. I use the one time use cameras like Kodak, Fuji Film, etc. I would put a digital through too much abuse. I broke my mom's last year while ice fishing, actually, the COLD TEMPS BROKE THE LENSES IN THE CAMERA!!

Lately I've been taking my parents digital camera with 3x optical zoom out whenever I am scouting or hunting and take a ton of pics although most don't turn out to well. So I asked for a new digital camera for Christmas and am getting a Panasonic DMC-FZ1 with 12x optical zoom and image stabilization. I can't wait to go out and start getting some pics after Christmas and during the shed hunting season. I know that I will not be able to stop taking pictures and will probably fill up all my memory cards each time I am out.

me and my cousin bring a video camera on our hunts...it actually helps us out. If a shot don't down a deer right away, we can replay the footage to make sure we got a good hit. If nothing else you learn from your own videos instead of tv

RE: Does anyone else here take pictures while hunting

I usually take my video camera out opening weekend and film the rut. After the hunt everyone watches and sees whats out there. When two or three people do this it can be amusing to sometimes see the same deer in three different places in one morning. It is a great tool to learn age and sizing so that everyone is on the same page as to what a shooter is and isn't. My camera cost me a shot at two shooters opening day 4 years ago. I picked the best one and went back out that afternoon with high hopes. I never saw either deer again all season long. No one else on the lease did either.
