rut in ohio ?

im just south of cleveland and this is my first year if deerhunting.
ive been in the woods since day 1 of deer season(oct 2) and just this past 2 weeks ive been seeing alot of bucks lately. does this mean the rut is running at its heaviest now or r things getting back to normal and im seeing deer returning to there normal areas and just feeding more? im hunting along cornfield that has been cut down and a nat park on the other...appreciate any replys

I live in SW PA and I'd say that the peak where you're at has passed. There are still a few bucks running the does that havent been bred but peak rut has long passed in PA.

I live nere Toledo and hunt here and in southern ohio and the rut is over or just about over. Last week I found only a very few scrapesthat had been cleaned in the day or 2 before.
There will be a second "rut"28 days after the first when the few does that did not get breed the first time come into heat again. Maybe that is what you are seeing 1 doe being chased by every buck in the area.
