electronic ears-hearing loss- any recomendations?

years of hunting, racing, and construction work have taken their toll on my hearing leaving 40% loss in my right ear-has anyone tried any of the hearing devices on the market? i saw one that gives stereo or directional mics on both ears has anyone tried these???

RE: electronic ears-hearing loss- any recomendations?

Onebullet, I have severe hearing loss in both of my ears, I need to wear hearing aids for everything. I can hear with out them, but it is the higher frequency sounds that I cannot hear.
We just had our rifle deer season in Wisconsin and on the day before, we had a good rain as well as a light rain the morning of opening day.
Hearing aids of any kind would not of helped me as the deer could run full tilt thru the woods and you would NOT have been able to hear them if they were right next to you !!!!

If it would have been cold and crunchy on the floor of the woods, they may have helped.
