Musk Glands

RE: Musk Glands
False, in fact if you take out the tarsal gland you shouldn't use that knife until thoroughly cleaned as it can taint the meat. I do remove the tarsal glands after FDing the animal though, as this is where I place the meat seal portion of our tags and it must be removed to hang anyway(only reason is functional not meat quality).

RE: Musk Glands
I always cut them off,and skin the deer as soon as possible. I feel the skin has a stink in it , especially the bucks that effects the meat. The musk glands are good to use around scrapes and rubs. I tie them on trees where I'm hunting
