This post brings back memories! Years ago when I was in college I drove an old chevy impala. After the deer hunt we had 2 bucks and a doe to bring to the check station (it was mandatory) so we put 2 in the trunk and 1 on the back seat with 3 of us sitting in the front seat it was quite a sight! When we pulled in to the check station there was a police cruiser and 2 game wardens. When they saw me pull up they forbid me to unload until they had a chance to run and get a camera. They were still laughing thier heads off at those " crazy buggers in the Impala" when we drove away. Yeah that car stunk pretty bad, don't know what was worse the smell of deer or the skunk screen we used to wear all bow season
Yeah they were great times, I still hunt with the same 2 guys and we don't quite stink as much.

This year I saw a motorhome going down the interstate with 2 deer in the back. looked like they were sitting at a table. One had a cigarette in its mouth. Both had orange coats on. I was laughing so hard that I almost drove off the road.

Also, while living in Louisiana, my sole mode of transportation was a motorcycle. Nonetheless, I was bound and determined to bowhunt the Thistlewaite Wildlife Area (known for its mighty bucks), and vowing to kill nothing but a spectacular buck...first time I was ever glad I didn't connect.

Good thread by the way SeaHunter.

2001 I had to take my wifes 2 door Saturn to go hunting on the final day of shotgun. I dropped an 8 point with a seventeen inch inside spread! I had to load this beast into the trunk by myself. It was raining and sleeting out. What a nightmare! The trunk would just close with the head turned just the right way! The guy's at the check in station were cracking up! They couldn't believe I got this deer in there by myself. It took 3 of us to get it back in after they weighed him! LOL! That same day while I was there a firebird pulled in with a 6 point tied across the hood! Blood everywhere! What a scary sight!

I always wanted to put a T-Shirt on the deer I have on my room that say "Your mommy lied, I'm not really sleeping" or "I'm Dead" I know that wouldn't go over well with the NON HUNTERS though.

SeaHunter; Never, I mean never, strap a deer to the hood of your vehicle!!!! The heat coming out of your engine will spoil your deer---unless it is a very short distance. Putting it on the top is fine. I have a buddy that doesn't own a truck and he carrys a large 100 quart(?) coleman cooler and just quarters the deer up and puts the pieces in the cooler---works like a champ and there is no blood spilled on any of his too expensive carpet!!!!---LOL Hope this helps.
