HIGH WINDS

they are calling for winds up to 70 mph here in pa. ( i know i posted this in the northeast forum too, but a lot of you guys don't go on there) do you guys/gals go into the woods when winds are up that high??? i'm not too sure if it's safe or not. i really don't feel like having a large tree falling on me today.

I would have no problem with hunting with that wind. I would use the wind to my advantage and get nice and close to the deer without them hearing me.

I dont know about 70 --but on our last day here in vt iwas up on a mt across from my house and the wind was outragous, made me a lil nervous when really good size branches were falling, Scaryest thing was (not to drag on but.....) about 150yrds from sitting watched this 6in (roughly) come toppling over. but wind normally--even fairly high dont bother me, just the crashing of crap coming out of trees makes me leary.:)

Winds that high always keeps me out of the woods...That's why they call those falling limbs 'widow makers".

:DI will have to agree. 30mph no problem. But 70mph? It is not that the wind is blowing! It`s what the wind is blowing thats the problem![8D] Not for this old boy!

No way! On the news today they said a man had a tree fall on him. I waited until the winds calmed and then went out. There were downed branches and even a few small trees lying all over the trails. Better to stay out of the woods when its like that.
