is a head shot ethical?
Just curious how many of you have made head shots and are they ethical?
I have heard hunters talking about taking headshots. So whats the verdict? Jim |
RE: is a head shot ethical?
read the post above and if you want to see what happens when someone makes a bad head shot on a deer i will post it. As for your question no never try it ,just a little miscalculation can be very bad on a deer.

Big no on the head shots. Too hard to do and extremely graphic if it does work. Remember, hunters have an image to uphold.

NO

RE: is a head shot ethical?
thatd be a big negative. if u only knew how hard it was to kill one cleanly that way. i have tried...and will never do it again. flopped around for 10 minutes with a perfect shot between the eyes with a high powered rifle...that is NOT ethical!

RE: is a head shot ethical?
The only way I think a head shot is ethical is if it is to finish off a downed deer.

Doesn't sound too nice, I don't think I could walk around with the image in my head either...go for the lungs :)

RE: is a head shot ethical?
I personally don't take a head or neck shot for reason others mentioned already. If the vital area isn't open I don't shoot.

No. Never. Too much margin for error.[:'(]
