that doe looks a little weird wouldnt you say

Yes..........her hair is ruffled forwards from dragging her. I didn't realize she was not well groomed before the pics were taken.

atlasman
What kind of range an accuracy do you get with that smooth bore? I'm assuming you are using rifled slugs right?

I use Brenneke Rottweil rifled slugs but my barrell is just a smooth bore slug barrell. I shoot the Rottweil's because they shoot the best from the gun out of all the ammo I have tried.

I can shoot 6 inch groups at 100 yards with my scope.........touching holes at 50 yards.

99% of my kills with that gun have been under 50 yards...........the woods I hunt are pretty thick.

Wow thats pretty good better then i expected from a smoothbore, i think I will definately consider a smooth bore. I figured I would just get a rifled barrel, But also would like a barrel with rifle sights for buck shot.

Wait a minute a hunter is never done. In NYS you can have some one consign you a DMU permit. See if you can con one of your buddies into letting you use his permit.

http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/d...n.html#example

Check out the above link to the DEC web site and get start working on one of your buddies or family members so you can get back out there with out having to drive a couple of hours.

By the way, NICE DEER and Congrats! I live in upstate NY and got a doe opening day. Saw 11 deer that day and only 1 since and I have been out 3 times since opening day.

Ageeed on DMP permit use....

If either your old man or the brother, or a friend have a spare DMP, you can hunt. In fact the DEC actually promotes this, they want you out there.

I was tagged out for the area I was in.

I still have one doe tag left and one antlerless Mz/archery tag also.

The tag I used on my latest doe WAS signed over from my dad.

Trust me boys..........if there is a legal way to get tags I am on it like Oprah on a ham sandwich

Bad part is my remaining doe tag is in a sucky area..........don't know why I picked it (Kicks self)
