post rut strategy?

Ok I'm in Michigan. I think the rut is coming to an end, no?

how should you hunt bucks in the post rut? Would it hurt to still have rut attractents out there since I'm unsure of when exactly the rut ends?

or if the rut is over will the spook the deer?

I'm planning on setting up the tree stand near well-traveled trail. As an added attraction, I was also going to put some Trail's End #307 around the area. In the post-rut, is this a good idea?

It depends on what stage of post rut? If prime rut just ended I like to rattle and catch them still cruising for the odd doe. If it is well after, then I hunt trials close to bedding areas that lead to food. Food sources are always a good bet but bare in mind they have had pressure from both other bucks and hunters, so they may be moving less especially during legal times in open terrain. So if your sitting on fields and not seeing any bucks, try getting a bit further back along their transition routes.

Josh I am not much for scents however if memory serves me correct the trail end is not considered a "Estrus Urine" persay if so this shouldn't cause any alarm to passing deer.

rut is not ending...rut is a bell shaped curve...the peak will have about 3-4 weeks either side of it...as long as there is a hot doe inber the rut is on....males rut based on the estrus cycle and heat periods of does....just like in Humans...the girls set the timetable.
