Watching a scape and rub...

Last Sunday I shot at a beautiful 10 point that I had first seen turkey hunting a few weeks prior. The bullet nicked a branch that I didn't see with the naked eye or with the scope but gave the buck a white hair trimmin'...but that is another story. I'm confident he wasn't injured. Yesterday I went up to the spot and carefully cleared out the little tree as it was in between my stand and his rub and scrape. I peeked over there and he obviously hasn't been back. I'm planning on going this Saturday and Sunday if necessary. It has rained the last two days and I'm wondering on your opinions of what you would do. I plan to just sit there and hope he comes back. It's not such a bad deal as the Saturday before I let an 8 point go waiting on the big boy. Thanks.

RE: Watching a scape and rub...

This past weekend I waited just outside of a shelterbelt where the scraps and rubs were very prominent. I didn't see a buck all weekend. My experience tells me that once a buck is shot at, in his territory, he tends to shy away from it for a while. I would take another buck if one comes along.
