Hey Stumpy, Great deer. I hunt in Shenandoah, Warren, Prince William, Loudon, and Fairfax Counties. The weather has been so warm, I have not had too much luck. Congrats on the great deer.

Mike

Yeah it has been warm here. The second week of mz season cooled down and the rut got to kickin fairly good. The first deer I killed was making some serious noise coming through the woods working rubs and scrapes. I grunted him in to about 40 yards. THis deer came out in a bean field just following a doe. I was watching 2 spikes and a doe to my left and a doe came out about 60 yards to my right. I had forgotten about the doe to my left and when I looked back at her 3-4 minutes later, Leroy here was standing out there. I love my new Optima!

I hunt near Ivor in Isle of Wight. That place is overrun with deer. Between the corn, beans and peanuts they can get huge. Seen some big bruisers there.

Yeah there are plenty of deer around here. THey are pickin gthe beans now so hopefully some of them will still be out in the fields. Between and the crops being picked and the dogs in the woods, the still hunting goes downhill fairly quickly.
