RE: Mule deer

All ungulates shed their antlers so a mule deer most definately sheds their antlers. I have found several.

Antlers are shed, horns keep with the animal. Deer have antlers, sheep have horns etc.

So what would an antelope be considered. It sheds the outer sheath from its horns every year?

Antelope are the one exception--the have horns even though the outer parts are shed--I watch a lot of discovery channel
