I was just wondering what you guys and girls would get i will be hunting in some open land and some woods for deer and i could get a slug barrel for my benelli nova for $160 or i could get a whole new weatherby vanguard for $400 remember im trying to save money??????????????

get an H&R ultra slug , bout what that extra barrel is gonna cost ya. Can reach out to 150yds easily .....

I shoot Breneke rifled slugs out of my regular 28" shotgun barrel. Dead on accurate at 100 yds. Use you regular barrel and these slugs and it'll cost you about $10 :D

You say you are going to be hunting open land, so go ahead and get a rifle. Check around for prices, a couple of weeks ago I could have bought a brand new .270 Vangard at Wal Mart for $250. I think you will get a lot more use out of a rifle.

I'd get the rifle --- if it's as open as you make it sound, I think you'd be disappointed if big daddy strolled out at 250 yards and all you had was a shotgun.;)

thanks for the replys keep um comin i was thinking about getting a 7mm rem mag or a 30/06 do they kick about the same and also recoil doesnt bother me
