Buck of a lifetime

I browse here more than I post, but I finally got the big one. It's a mainframe 10 point with a 1 inch kicker off the base of its left antler. - Inside spread: 20 1/4 inches Main beam length: 25 1/2 inches - Dressed out at 165 lbs and taken with an Remington 870 slug gun at 1:30pm on Friday, 12 November off of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. It has not been scored, but the game warden, who is also a B&C scorer estimated it around 160 inches. He also checked the buck's teeth and aged it at 3 1/2! Now that's some genetics. If I had one piece of advice to offer, it would be to hunt the midday. Good luck to all and be safe.

Thanks ya'll. I am very humbled by the whole experience. This is the biggest deer I have ever seen in my life (except for TV), and I know I'll probably never see another one like this again. But I don't mind that one bit.

Thanks to everyone.:)

I guess I should change my profile. I am from Texas, but I am currently in the Army stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. This deer was shot on the Tennessee side of the military reservation.

I was talking to a guy about the hole in the antler, and he said that a taxidermist once told him that it's from a bee sting while in velvet. Just hearsay, but seems like a reasonable explanation to me.

>>>> That's a very nice chocolate horned buck. No doubt I'd have dropped the hammer on this guy on public land, but he is not a 160 class deer based on the photo.

That may very well be true. It really doesn't matter to me. I really don't know the first thing about accurately measuring a rack, and frankly I couldn't care less about a B&C score. I am just going off of what several people who have more experience that me have said. A couple of guys also said the photo doesn't do the deer justice. Thanks for all of the comments guys and gals.

Wow...nice buck and only a 3 1/2 to boot. I'm certainly not saying to pass him up, but could you image that bad boy at 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 if he made it that long? Great job!!
