Deer Feeders

I have a couple of torando deer feeders. The deer seem to be afraid of them. I mean i will put corn in them and visit them later but no tracks.. I put a camera on it and no pictures. The timer cant be re set. The deer around here pretty much come out a dusk and dawn is there something i can do to a site before like. Put corn there for 2 weeks then put the feeder there 25 yards away since it is a tripod. then move it closer then put corn in it and turn it on then see i dunno.

They will get used to it soon enough, give them a few weeks. I use the big tripod type with suspended 55gal barrels and spincast timers. If it bugs you go ahead and put some candy under it, buck jam, Deer cain, etc.

Good luck

Give it time, they will get use to it, that is if you put it in a high trafic area. If you put it out to where the deer dont come, it might take a long time for them to stumble up on it. If you put it were you have trails, tracks, etc. they will find it pretty soon.;)

We got a guy on our lease with a Tornado feeder, man that thing sounds like a 747 taking off when it fires up. We all make fun of him, because we can hear when his feeder goes off all the way up at camp. Those things have 3 motors in them and shake like a jackhammer. He said he got deer coming to his, and also jokes that if deer are under it when it goes off the speed of the corn will kill them dead.

Give it time pretty soon the deer will start coming especially if you have a good freeze and food choices start getting slim. As far as the sound they maybe scared of it now but if you keep the feeder there long enough it will start sounding like a dinner bell to them.

Tornado feeder. I have two barrels with feeder underneath and one Tornado feeder. The problem I have with the Tornado is JAMS. I use the bagged, super clean corn. It doesn't seem to make any difference, the thing will have one, two or (rarely) all three of its motors jam until I take a stick and clean out the sling slot under the rubber finger. All of the feeders make a racket, the deer (and hogs) get accustomed to it, might even be the Pavlov's dog trick. Hang in there, keep the two batteries fresh, don't use any thing but corn or it will REALLY jam quickly.
