good en, i killed a buck a few years back that should have been a decent 8, but did not have either brow tine, so he became the biggest 6pt i ever killed 18" with 8" g1's or g2's whatever you'd call em, again way to go man.

I have had it happen to me. I think in some areas in the woods deer have a hole they travel through. They can pop up in various places.
