I have been hunting for 6 years and am now 18. No one in my family hunts so when i was 12 my dad asked an older gentlemen to take me out and show me the ropes he was 72 at the time and took up the offer instantly. I took a small buck and doe with him and he passed away when i was 15. Up until this season i haven't had anyone to go hunting with so when i turned 18 i emediatly got my firearms license and purchased a 30-06 a few months later i took a real nice 8 point buck and it was probably one of the most exciting days of my life. I dedicated the buck to my old freind who most graciously showed my the ropes and plan to do the same for another person who want;s to hunt and doesn;t have the resources.
I enjoy everyone's hunting stories and just wanted to share my most memorable momemnt.
P.S The buck proudly hangs on my wall and everyday i look at it i think of how excited i was when i found out i would be able to go hunting!

I hope you find some youngsters to share your love of this great sport of ours with and I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your good friend!
