Buck poached on my Grandfathers' place.(pics)
We found this buck on opening morning of rifle season on my grandpas land. It was shot with a rifle and been dead for around a day or so. The poacher who shot it just left it, within sight of the road. It's a shame that this deer went to waist. Was a descent buck now but had some potential. Could've been a real good one in a couple years. I attached a couple pics.

1950kid, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the pictures except that kshunter said it had been found opening morning within sight of a road. It does sound like poachers to me. It's a shame that is a nice deer.

kshunter that is a shame, when I looked at the first pic I thought, "Man that one is a monster", then I saw the second pic and with a hand in there I see what you mean, even though it is a twelve point it had a smallish rack in reality, he would have been a lot bigger next season. Oh and they sure shot him pretty far back.

I found the same thing this year bow hunting 9 point hit just about the same exact spot. And the kicker is it fell right under one of my tree stands. I wish people would respect the animal more!

The hole that you can see was where it went in. We turned it over and on the backside there was a bigger hole, about in the same spot. It was a bad gut shot that stunk pretty bad when we rolled him over. I first we thought someone shot it that morning, but with it being stiff and cold from a rifle shot, and only being light for 2-3 hours on opening day, it's obvious it wasn't taken shot anywhere, legally. I mean it's one thing to poach a deer and take it home to use it, but another to shoot one and leave it there to rot, even though both are completely wrong. Thanks for posting pics Johnny.
