Default Is this odd behavior for a buck this time of year?

I watched a doe and two fawns come in toward my stand, while a young 6 pointer walked along with them. He got intrested in a Mega Tarsal trail I put down, while the doe kept her eye on me. Is it unusual for a buck to be with a doe and her fawn while not in estrus?

Also the doe seemed agitated about the smell of the mega tarsal, Am I correct in assuming this.
