can Arm & Hammer baking soda be put in a squeeze bottle and used as a wind checker ?

I've always used sewing thread wound up and tied to my stabilizer. When it breaks off, I just unwind some more.

Thread on the stablizer and orange yarn to pull theads out of. You can see those for a long time blowing on the wind.

Cornstarch or baking soda work well for short range ,
for long range I use the fluffy seed 'chutes from milkweed seeds .

I use rock climbing chalk. It very light and extremely cheap. I also do a bit of rock climbing so I happen to have some handy.

I've never tried baking soda but I think it may be to heavy to get good drift. I would estimate it to be 300% heavier by mass then climbing chalk.
