Texas youth get a one week jump, So . . . .10/30. I get to take my boys out and get things rolling. Another great reason to A) have kids and B) take em hunting.

We have a pretty early start for rifle deer here if you are willing to hunt different areas and hunt other species besides whitetail. For example we are allowed to hunt whitetail in regular elk season provided we posess an elk tag. Elk opens the middle of september, therefore i start rifle hunting deer around 13th of September each year. Once elk season closes a rifle season in a provincial park opens end of Sept and runs till December. The main season on the farmland does not open till begining of November but for those folks like me who can't get enough hunting we will start rifle deer hunting in the next week or 2.

Yes, SC has an opening date of Aug.15th-Jan.1st in the swamps/low country. The longest season and most liberal limits.
A few years ago, I hunted from mid-Sept-Thanksgiving Day and put 17 deer in the freezer and the Ruger back on the rack...Freezer full....

Virginia Oct 1 - Nov 30
In the cities of Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.
In the City of Suffolk (east of the Dismal Swamp line).
Nov 13 - Jan 1 through the rest of the state

Washington State:
Bow: Sept 1-30
Muzzle: Oct 2-8
Modern Rifle: Oct 16-24 for most places
And there are some late hunts as well. But most areas only get 8 days for modern rifle.
