Default Which Crop is the best deer...?

Which crop do you believe is the very best deer "attractor?" Have you ever hunted a food plot that turned out to be unproductive?
What strategy did you employ next?

corn is the best around my neck of the woods, soybeans can be good but they usually just feed on them at night.

I agree with Andy. Corn seems to be a big attractor in my area. Next, I would guess is the apples. We have tons of apple orchards around here. Finally the acorns though the place I hunt have very few acorn producing trees.

I would have to say sugar beets, then corn because of the cover, but soybeans when they are young will beat the corn(without the cover),then sweet potatoes, they would rather have them than anything.

Freshly planted $20 patent roses. Plant one or two and the deer magically appear and chew them to the ground.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Probably a combination of beans and alfalfa.
I have a 3 acre patch of both in the middle of 500 acres of timber. Kind of a honey hole!

I agree with almost everyone, Corn is #1 and I think Soybeans is #2. I would go with corn.

The only food plot I hunt is the wheat, but that is just because that is all that is planted on my hunting land.
