just grab closest to the head as you can and pull firmly but gently and it will come out. if the head comes off you will be able to see it in your arm and dig it out with some tweesers.

The burn method is for leaches only.........if u burn a tick and you make it throw up in your skin and if its caring lyme disease u just contracted it to you. Vaseline is good for suffication, and simply pulling it out is okay. I am no doctor, but when i was stationed in north carolina with the marines the doc always told us to suffocate or pull it out, dont burn em.

Ticks contract diseases to humans not by the bite. The tick gorges itself on your blood and when it can't eat anymore, it essentially throws up back into your blood stream. this is how the diseases are transmitted from ticks. So, when you irritate a tick, you risk the tick throwing up back into your blood and infecting you. This is why an easy pull from the head of the tick is the best method of removing a tick.
