Im probably the worlds worst at staying all day. In the mornings Ive gotten out of the blind as early as 830 several times. Actually once I got out at 805, and got my best buck at 810, I ve been trying to stay longer and longer, but 930 is about as late as I ll stay. sometime Im back in my stand by 10-1030 for a noontime hunt. On afternoon hunts I like to get in the stand no later than 230 and of course stay till dark, I Have more patience in the afternoon hunt, mornings always make me think about breakfast too much. :D

All day usually.

Except for turkeys, you can only hunt them till noon in PA.

During the week I hunt from about 4pm to dark. Saturdays I usually hunt from dawn till around 10:30....then 3 till dark. During the RUT I'm in my treestand from dawn till dusk....unless I have to climb down to follow the blood!;)

Bow starts Sept 15 and I hunt it till November 1 3 or 4 days a week, weekdays 3 till dark and Saturdays Dark till 0900 and 3pm to dark. I see most of the der early and late anyway when I have stayed all day. There is no one else in the woods to move the deer during the day!!! Unlike most I usually hope for someone to disturb the woods.

Rifle is Nov 1 till Dec 30 and I hunt most of November 3 or 4 afternoons a week and Sat & days off dark till 1000 & 1400 till dark on days off. Nov 1&2 all day and opening of the regular season all day, Nov 15. December gets cold and the deer go nocturnal so I hunt less mostly a few hours in the morning or evening.

We (sons and 2 friends) always go in and get set up at least 45-60 min before 1st light. We are dedicated tree stand hunters and we all stay until legal shooting hrs is over - 30 min after sunset. That's 11 1/2 hrs in a tree, every day. The only time we come down is when one of us tags and all the others show up to help. Of course if you shoot a deer at 7AM or 3pm, you won't see anyone for about 2 hrs. We usually have 4-6 guys setup in such a way that we cover an awful lot of area and we know EXACTLY where everyone is. Everyone has their own style, but we do it our way simply because it works. Just the thought of hearing a round go off and knowing it's absolutely one of us, is such a great feeling. That's when comrauderie and hunting go hand and hand.

Early bow I hunt peak times (AM and PM). First part of ML(Oct) for whitetails I continue this trend but usually spend more times out in the evening. If chasing Mulie's I hunt am through midday during ML season. Come pre rut and rut I spend as much time out as possible -especially the rut midday is my preferred timeframe. Most of my larger deer have come between the hours of 11-3 in Nov.

Me too, I go in by headlamp, and don't make a move for the car until the last second of shooting light.

Until my butt can't stand the cold anymore or I usually get out around 11 and get back in around 2:30 until dark. I enjoy both morning and evening but some mornings I can't keep these eyes awake. I feel as if I'm starting to fall when I take those extra long blinks and that drives me crazy.

Iam like alot of the guys in here, I go in just before first light and don't come out till dark, I bring everything in that I will need for the day and stay in my stand, you just never know when that one big buck will come stumbling on by.

RE: how long do you usually stay out on a hunt?

I am not a very patient person, so I am in my treestand approx. 30-45 minutes before day break, and stay until 9-9:30 am. I then head back to the woods around 3-3:30pm and stay until dusk. I wish I had more patience, but I know my limitations. The three nice bucks on my wall tell me I am doing something right!!!!

RE: how long do you usually stay out on a hunt?

I honestly don't think I've ever pulled a dark to dark hunting outing. Most of my hunts are a few hours here and there. About the only time I am out all day is when I'm involved with a group and we do drives all day.

RE: how long do you usually stay out on a hunt?

If I have the entire day to hunt, I will hunt all day until I get something. In at my stand within 45 minutes of legal hunting hours and back to the truck just as the last light leaves the sky. I don't like walking back to the truck in total darkness. There have been occasions where I was up and secured in my stand 1.5 hours before first light, but that was because I was overly excited to be in a prime hunting location that week!

In the morning, I stay out until breakfast is ready. . . . In the evening, I stay out until its dark. So about 6:00am-8:30am and 3:30-6:00pm. Deer down here don't move alot in the heat and it can be pretty warm in early November
