Guess the age and score of this one
 

I got this buck on my stealthcam last week behind my house. if you cant tell in the pic he does have matching G4s, his right side is about 1.5in and the left is about 3.5in. He is an 11pt with a split G2. Im looking for gross score since Im sure he'll lose a little with that kicker and the g4s.

Id say 4.5 +, Im not much a scorer so I wont even guess that. Damn nice buck though. Id take him for sure

I would say if he was an ILL deer to be no more than 3 and he would gross around 145.

I would say he is 2.5 years old because of his skinny neck.......Im not good at scoring so idk!:D

3 years likely. I would guess around 145 once deductions are made.

keep em coming guys. I believe him to be a 3.5yr old.
I saw him and his bachelor group a couple weeks ago and judging by the others racks and body sizes that he was with- 2 1.5yr old fork horns, 1 2.5yr old 8pt, and 2 other bucks of his same rack and body size that i think were all one age class above the decent 8 which looked to be a year ahead of the smaller bucks. im no expert though, thats why im asking for some help.
as for the score, i guessed around 130gross. Although its not the most important thing I would love to be able to take him and him make P&Y.
Unless I get a bigger deer on the camera or run into one I think Im gonna hold out for him.

this is another pic I got the same night as this buck. not sure but I believe its the same buck. gives you a better idea of his spread and height.

3.5 years old, and 145 gross. I hate trying to field score deer in velvet.[:'(]

Well I would say 2 1/2 and must disagree with most on the score. 120 to 128 1/8 on a good day. Its a beautiful looking deer. I would say the spread woukd be 16 1/2. The general rule to score a 150 is. At least a 10 point with a 20 inch spread tines that average 8 inchs, main beams of 21 and circumferences of 4 inchs at bases and only lose 1 1/2 inchs at top of beams. I dont believe this buck qualifies. It is a healthy looking critter though.

I'd say he is no more than 3 1/2 yrs. old and should probably gross 130.
His spread is outside the ears, so I'd say an 18" spread.
As this is a younger buck, he should be a real monster in 2 more years, but he probably wouldn't live to grow another rack if I were around!

I'd say around the 130 mark for score...give or take roughly 5. I'd say he's probably for sure atleast a 3 1/2. I think his body size is too big to be a 2 1/2, but who knows. Nice buck for sure. Could be a dandy in a year or two if he makes it.

3.5yo and grosses in the 120's maybe 130's, but that's pushing it.

His age can be estimated by these characteristics....at least this is how I do it:
Slight sag in the back, slight belly hang, not barrel chested, legs still kind of long looking = 3.5

For a rack I look at this:
Just over ear wide(about 16-17"), good mass, G2's are good, G3's are good(about 8" each), G4's are short, beams look good at about 20"

well, i said my answer before i scrolled down, and to my surprise, alot of other guys said the same thing, i guess i must watch too many hunting shows!!! I try to do the same thing on Monsterbucks (guess the score before they post it) i said 2 1/2 (because of the neck and brisket, about 19" inside spread and score between 135 and 140 gross!! Shooter in my book !!!!!!

3 years and lucky to gross over 140. I'd have a trough time passin him up. Sure would be nice to see him in one more year.:D

I'd say 2.5... Maybe 3.5... and I'd give him 130... Be sure to let us know who got it right after you get him on the wall...:D

He is starting to get that race horse look where he is very muscular, however is neck seems still seperate from his body where an old buck neck is seemed swallowed, and the chest is even with his deep waist, that buck still has lanky legs........so i would have to say a 3yr old, and about 130 range.

Score around 134, and at least 3 1/2 yrs old due to his belly line. Oops, I figured 134 without taking into account circumferences, he could go upper 140's.

Looks like a 3 1/2 year old buck tha grosses about 132"

Good beams and pretty good spread, but tines are not that long and they are not that heavy.

Kill 'em this fall and let us know.

He is just starting to have that body to big for the legs look. which makes him 3.5 to 4.5 years. When they look to big for the legs and look front heavy they are 5.5 to 6.5 the rack is out of my league but 140s seems about right. When he has his full fall weight, if he looks real body to big for his legs & like top heavy I would lean to the 4.5 years.

He's a nice buck no doubt. I'd say he's 3.5 and IMO he will make the book, but not by alot. 130ish...

well its not gonna matter if he goes P&Y now... just got my new Bowtech in the mail this afternoon and its got an 80% letoff instead of the 65% my Alpine had. Dont guess he'll qualify even if he does score.

Multiple Pictures of same deer....
This deer doesn't have any signs of an old deer and there's very little sag in the middle of his back. I'd say 2.5 to 3.5 y/o - probably around 130 to 135 class. This will be a nice deer next year but he'll only get that way if you let him walk this year.
