I am not saying thats not a big deer but I have seen much bigger where I bow hunt in Ohio. And my grandpa killed a 13 pt 233 lb buck his firts kill in the 5o's.

ohio bring huge deer as for ny my grandpa hunted 72 years an never seen one this big or shot so thats for this but anyway does any one know where i can find ny state record deer

If that was a record, then when u checked it in i think the person checking the deer in might have called the game warden, telling him they may have a new record. That is a 2yr old buck where i hunt, but congrats on your deer.

Both deer taken the same year in the same county. Those towns I think are about 15 miles apart. Pretty amazing.

Wow, I knew it was large, but you had to look at the picture carefully. Most people take their pictures with them standing as far back as possible to make the deer look larger then it really is. Looks like the opposite in your case.

FWIW, most 2 year old deer that I have seen in NY average around 11-12 inch spread, so I'm guessing yours is a bit older then some have said on the board.

Dude, that is maybe the worst picture I have ever seen. Nice buck, good job and congrats on your hunt.........but man you look like you are either trying to look like a tough guy or are just not having any fun at all...........and the deer being in the back of the truck??? [:'(]

I have seen you post this pic before and I always wonder why you pick that photo to show off your nice deer?? Don't you have a better picture of him then that?? You took more then 1 right??

Hey........like I said.........and others as well. You have a nice deer there. Congrats. The fact that you choose to display it against pretty much every rule of good picture taking is entirely up to you. You are not dressed in hunting gear, not only are you not smiling you actually managed to look grumpy.......and the deer is laying in a pickup truck like roadkill with a spare tire against his arse

well yea an no. i got some on the cma but battery is dead here is one the lump on its kneck is b/c it hasnt dried rite now its gone

NY Record Illegally taken back in the 1970's in NY I believe
 

I used to work for the NYSDEC in Delmar, NY.

There is a mount of a gorgeous, huge-racked buck that was said to be taken by a gentleman - I believe in the 1970's or 80's from his pickup truck in the afternoon sporting a high powered rifle (7mm?) - when he shot it in a woman's garden in a bow only area - not even aware that there WAS a NYSDEC ENCON Officer directly behind him in a patrol car! LOL. Needless to say:

1) NYSDEC confiscated his truck and firearm for he case
2) His name was in the paper
3) He was fined by the Court
4) He lost the ability to purchase of possess a Hunting License in he State of NY for (I think) 10 years (don't quote me on that one!)
5) Was said to prob have been a NY State record if taken legally
6) Is mounted and on display at the NYSDEC Wildlife Resource Center at NYS DEC Five Rivers Education Center / Facility - (but DOES NOT give HIM credit for the take, no acknowledge his name as the person who took the deer).

I have seen it nearly everyday when I worked there....the rack is huge! Lots of points! I wish that I could find the article and/or the pic of it online - but I can't...
