RE: Favorite Deer Rifle
I would have to say the one I am currently shooting right now.
Remington 700 Varmint Laminated Stock (VLS) in .243 with a bull barrell and 2 1/2 lb trigger pull. So easy to shoot a kid could do it, and he did my son at 13 took his first, a spike last year at a distance of 195 yds. Those damn play station sniper video games sure came in handy for that one LOL. I took a big hog on this same hunt at 220 yds, dropped him in his tracks with a well place bullet in the neck. |

RE: Favorite Deer Rifle
Remington M700 Mountain Rifle DM with Leupold 3-9X. The mountain rifle is light, quick handling, and drives tacks. the detachable magazine is very handy. no more loose shells. If i'm hunting in thick brush where the shots are going to be close or in iowa i switch over to my Remington 870 with 20" fully rifled cantilevered slug barrel with Leupold 1-4X shotgun scope. Both work great on whitetails.
Would love to use my late grandfather's Winchester 94 in .30-30 sometime.just for the nostalgia. slayer |

RE: Favorite Deer Rifle
My personal favorite is my 1974 Mossberg 30-30. I know it's range isn't the best in the world, but for where I hunt it is perfect.
